Recently Virginia and I went to see Darkest Hour, the Oscar-nominated film about the period in May 1940 when Winston Churchill was appointed Prime Minister. The forces of Adolf Hitler sweep through Europe, threatening to invade Great Britain. Members of the War Cabinet, including former Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, whom Churchill replaced, press hard to force Churchill to sue for peace and prevent the carnage of war on our own soil. If Churchill won’t agree, Chamberlain and Lord Halifax will………

We have a range of regular worship options that appeal to all. See the ‘Services‘ or ‘Diary‘ pages for full details.

We use the traditional (Book of Common Prayer) and contemporary (Common Worship, Taize, Iona) forms of worship.  On the second Sunday of the month we have an All Age Worship with our uniformed groups invited.

Our membership is drawn both from our parish as well as from across Macclesfield. We pride ourselves on our warm friendly welcome.  We look forward to welcoming you to one of our services and to sharing a cup of fairly traded tea or coffee with you afterwards!

 St Paul’s Prayer
Father, in the busyness of our lives, may we make time each day

to be still in your presence.
In the stillness, may we find the light and peace of your beloved Son,
the risen Christ, who brings healing and wholeness –
that fullness of life which is your longing for all your children.
May we, your family at St Paul’s, be united in prayer, worship and witness,
as a living temple to your glory, now and always.
Amen
