We meet in the Church Hall at 10.25.am.
We come into Church for the first part of the service, until after the second hymn (a children’s song). We then gather together to chat with one another and follow the lectionary guidance on our topic for the day. We learn about Jesus, God, the Bible and caring for one another and the world using different learning approaches.
We then return into Church for the Communion/a blessing and share and celebrate in our achievements with the Church congregation, before the end of the service.
We finish approximately at 11.30.pm, when we join in with drinks and a biscuit in the Church Hall.
Thanks to a grant award from Speaking Volumes, the Christian Book Charity and from St Paul’s PCC,
there are now 170 books available to borrow. The library is open to both church members and the wider community
with books suitable for children and young people age 0-16 years.
The books include fiction, with Christian themes, board and picture books, books to support young people’s emotional and moral development, art and craft ideas plus much more.
When ever church is open, anybody can choose up to 3 books to borrow for up to 3 weeks.
Just record what title you are borrowing in the A4 Record Book, with name and contact number then when the books are returned, record the date of return
We have used the Fig Tree as our Prayer Tree, as it is by the entrance to the Parish Centre, where many people enter the Church.
There are many references to the Fig tree in the Bible, e.g. Adam and Eve used Fig Leaves to cover themselves and the Withered Fig Tree (Mark 20). “ I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.” (Mark 20 v 24).
Can you think of any more Bible references……?
